ArchiCAD Reviews
We have 1 review for ArchiCAD. The average overall ratings is 4.0 / 5 stars.
Overall Opinion: ArchiCAD is a breath of fresh air for CAD programs. ArchiCAD is one of a kind, in the sense that it is designed specifically for the architectural field. While most trades and fields have software dedicated to 3D design and BIM, archiCAD delivers a rich set of tools for architects. One of the strongest pros about archiCAD is its BIM support. In the construction field today, BIM is a must. Many of the larger projects being built today require BIM coordination in the preliminary design phase, before ground is even broke. By supporting BIM, archiCAD can potentially save its users thousands by detecting problems and conflicts before its too late. Support for Solibri and Artlantis is also a huge plus for this software, as more and more companies are utilizing 3D rendered models in their work. These 3D models are critical when presenting your work to a potential client, and when communicating design intent to engineers and subcontractors. While archiCAD is a rich and powerful CAD program, it does have a steep learning curve. Users unfamiliar with CAD programs will be quite lost, and the user interface doesn't help. Even veteran CAD users may have a tough time trying to navigate through all of archiCADS features. Luckily, GraphiSoft has free tutorials and webinars on how to use its powerful software, and does offer live support for the people who have purchased it.
