Filmstro

Overall Opinion: I tried Filmstro for the first time a couple of years ago when it wasn't so expensive and I kind of liked it. You could do something with the music that I didn't see before. But seeing how many compatibility problems there were, I was waiting for the software developers to fix the bugs. When I saw that the prices went up from 7£ to 25£ a month, I naively thought that the software was going to work and that I could use it for my ongoing project instead of other music library software. But that was a mistake. As soon as I downloaded and installed it, it started to give me problems and I messaged the support team which was really unprepared and was only asking me ridiculous questions about my internet connection etc, only for them to gain time and to not refund me. In the end, I could not use it for my projects and I was not refunded. The developers seems not to care about fixing the problems but only to make money with it.

Overall Opinion: Filmstro is both a necessity and a game changer for film makers today, especially independent or low budget ones. The alternative before Filmstro was to hire composers to make custom music for your films, which is a long and costly process that does not always yield results you will like. However, Filmstro eliminates the need to do that altogether. By telling the software how you want your music to feel in the context of your film, you make it much easier on yourself to get the right fit for your film. While there are downsides that come with not working directly with a composer, Filmstro is still a great option for aspiring and independent filmmakers everywhere. The software is easy to use and often provides your film with just the touch it needed.
