Overall Opinion: Have you ever wanted to control a web game with you game controller? You can with JoyToKey, which basically emulates keyboard and mouse input on a controller. This software utility is a small executable that you can load a startup. It has a simple interface that lets you configure your buttons as keys and your stick movements as mouse movements. JoyToKey is easy to use and it let you sets up multiple profiles, so you can control different games in different ways. You can even control non-games with it. It further comes with lots of configuration options. What's more, it is shareware. You can try it for a free, and if you like it, you can buy a license for a nominal fee. However, JoyToKey comes across as a very dated piece of software from the turn of the century. It also does not seem to have been updated in any meaningful way since Windows XP. What's more, the software has limitations when used with Windows versions starting from Windows Vista and moving forward. This means that if you have a modern version of Windows, you will not be able to simulate some keystrokes. They further recommend that you use the software in Windows XP compatibility mode. JoyToKey has a number of technical issues, too, though you can resolve many of these by following the FAQ on their site.
Pros: Free to try, and it is very inexpensive to buy Easy to set up and use Can run at startup Has plenty of configuration options
Cons: Only works with Windows Has limitations when running on modern versions of Windows Very dated software Has some technical issues
