Overall Opinion: Online learning apps are a dime a dozen these days, but Pluralsight stands out from the rest by narrowing its focus to some of the most high demand careers in the field. Their specialization is in computer sciences, and their curriculum covers everything from software development and data management to IT services and computer security. If you're looking for a high paying career in the tech industry, you're likely to find a curriculum that suits you in the Pluralsight catalog. The advantage of online learning platforms is that they allow students to study at their own pace, and Pluralsight is optimized for established professionals who are looking to expand their proficiencies in a given field. Their platform allows you to study wherever you happen to be and in whatever format is most comfortable for you. Apps for tablets and phones allow you to train your brain on the go with a wide range of exercises, while the copy of the app for computers and TV streaming devices gives you access to streaming content. PC users can also download courses to watch when offline. Altogether, it creates a seamless ecosystem where your progress follows you across all of your major devices. While students are free to pick up and follow whatever courses are available to them, a path like that can be unstructured and overwhelming. That's why Pluralsight has charted a number of courses that create a smooth transition in each field from fundamentals to higher concepts. Following these tracks mean you'll never be left behind, and if you're covering concepts you're already familiar with, you can always skip ahead. This is further complemented by benchmarks that allow you to analyze your capabilities in a certain set of skills and adjust your learning accordingly. Many of these assessments consist of only 20 questions and take little more than five minutes to complete. If you're falling behind the curve in your class, live tutors are available to help you through the rough patch and get a better feel for the lesson's materials. Pluralsight isn't just for individuals. It can also be used by small business owners or corporations to help improve the effectiveness of their employees. PluralSight channels allow professionals to highlight specific content and guide their employees towards it, and a wealth of practice tests can help you make sure that your team member is on track to pass any certifications they may be working towards. For owners of large businesses, Pluralsight can even help you identify any weaknesses in the office. Pluralsight's advanced skills analytics can help you better evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of both individual team members and the group as a whole and better guide them towards the training that they need to push your enterprise to the next level. From there, you can track their engagement and make sure everyone's staying on track.

Pros: Scales well to both individuals and large business owners Skill assessments help you track your progress Learning paths are a great way to direct your learning

Cons: Curriculum limited to tech fields Subscription fee is pricey when compared to much of the competition
